On my map of Anchorage, each of the knots represents a space or person close to me. Green are community building spaces, orange are mental health advocacy, pink are close friends and people I love, blue are healthcare, and purple local businesses. The red heart is my family’s home. I want to continue to add to this web and draw paths inwards, documenting my paths. I chose the medium of fabric because quilting is an important form of memory recording in my family. I chose the road map form because I am intimately familiar with the layout of Anchorage, having driven it for the past 13 years.
